Ἔστω κοῦπα καὶ ἐχέτω τὴν κάτω διάμετρον ποδῶν ε΄, τὴν δὲ ἄνω ποδῶν γ΄, τὸ δὲ ὕψος ποδῶν η΄· καὶ ἐχέτω τὸν οἶνον ἕως ποδῶν Ϛ΄· πόσα οὖν κεράμια χωρήσει; ποιῶ οὕτως· ἀφαιρῶ τὰ γ΄ ἀπὸ τῶν ε΄· λοιπὸν β΄· ταῦτα ἐπὶ τα Ϛ΄ γίνονται ιβ΄· τούτων τὸ η˝ γίνονται α΄ Ϲ· καὶ ἀφαιρῶ τὴν α΄ Ϲ ἀπὸ τῶν ε΄· λοιπὸν γ΄ Ϲ· ἔσται οὖν τὸ πλάτος ἕως ὅπου ὁ οἶνος ἀνέβαινε ποδῶν γ΄ Ϲ. καὶ ποιῶ τὰ γ΄ Ϲ καί τὰ ε΄· η΄ Ϲ γίνονται πόδες· ὧν Ϲ γίνεται δ΄ δ˝· καὶ ταῦτα ἐφ᾿ ἑαυτὰ γίνονται πόδες ιη΄ ιϚ˝· ταῦτα ἑνδεκάκις γίνονται ρ𝒢η΄ Ϲ η˝ ιϚ˝· τούτων μερίζω τὸ ιδ˝· γίνονται πόδες ιδ΄ ζ˝ κη˝ ριβ˝ σκδ˝· ταῦτα ποιῶ ἐπὶ τὸ ὕψος, ἐπὶ τοὺς Ϛ΄ πόδας· γίνονται πε΄ ζ˝ ριβ˝· τοσαῦτα κεράμια χωρήσει.
