Ἄλλως ὁ αὐτὸς κῶνος ὀξυγώνιος. μετρήσωμεν οὕτως· ἔστω ἡ διάμετρος τοῦ περὶ τὴν βάσιν κύκλου ποδῶν ϛ, ὁ δὲ ἄξων ποδῶν ιβ, ὅ ἔστιν ὕψος ἢ μῆκος· εὑρεῖν τὸ στερεόν. ποιῶ οὕτως· ἔλαβον τοῦ κύκλου τὴν διάμετρον. τὸ ἐμβαδὸν ποιήσας· ἐφʼ ἑαυτὰ τὰ ϛ καὶ τὰ γινόμενα ἐνδεκάκις καὶ τὸ ιδʹ, καὶ γίνονται κη δʹ κηʹ· ταῦτα ἐπολυπλασίασα ἐπὶ τὰ ιβ· γίνονται τλθ γ ζ΄. τοσοῦτον γίνεται τὸ στερεὸν τοῦ κυλίνδρου.
