ἐπεὶ οὖν οὐχ ὑπόκειταί μοι κυλίνδρου μέτρησιν εὑρεῖν ἐπὶ τοῦ προκειμένου, ἀλλὰ κώνου, ἔλαβον τὸ γ´ τῶν τλθ γ ζ΄· γίνονται ριγ ζ΄. τοσούτου γίνεται τὸ στερεὸν τοῦ κώνου· δέδεικται γὰρ ἐν τῇ στοιχειώσει Εὐκλείδου, ὅτι πᾶς κῶνος τρίτον μέρος ἐστὶ κυλίνδρου τοῦ τὴν αὐτὴν βάσιν ἔχοντος καὶ ὕψος ἴσον.
