Ἄλλως. ἔστω σφηνίσκος, ὃς καλεῖται ὑπό τινων ὄνυξ, ἔχων τὸ μὲν ἀπὸ κεφαλῆς δακτύλων ἕξ, τὸ δὲ ἄλλο δακτύλων ῑ, τὸ πάχος δακτύλων η· εὑρεῖν αὐτοῦ τὸ στερεόν. ποιῶ οὕτως· συντιθῶ τὰ β πλάτη· γίνονται ιϛ· ἐπὶ τὸ πάχος· γίνονται ραη. ἐπὶ τὸ μῆκος ταῦτα τῶν η· γίνονται ,ακδ. τούτων τὸ δ΄· γίνονται σνς· τοσούτων χυδαίων δακτύλων. ταῦτα μερίζω ὡς τὸ τετράγωνον.
