Ἄλλως. ἔστω ὄνυξ ἔχων τὸ μὲν μῆκος δακτύλων ῑ, πλάτος δακτύλων ϛ, πάχος δακτύλων ε· εὑρεῖν αὐτοῦ τὸ στερεόν. ποιῶ οὕτως· πολυπλασιάζω τὸ πλάτος καὶ τὸ πάχος· γίνονται λ. ταῦτα ἐπὶ τὸ μῆκος· γίνονται τ. τούτων λαμβάνω τὸ U+2220΄· γίνονται ρν. ταῦτα μερίζω ὡς τὸ τετράγωνον· γίνονται στερεοὶ δάκτυλοι ιβ δ΄.
