Εἰ δὲ στερεομετρίαν οἰκοδομῆς ἡμικυκλίου ἤγουν ἀψίδος θέλῃς μετρῆσαι, ἧς ἡ διάμετρος ποδῶν ϛ, ἡ δὲ κάθετος ποδῶν γ καὶ τὸ πάχος τοῦ τοίχου ποδὸς ᾱ, πρόσθες τοῖς ϛ ποσὶ τῆς διαμέτρου τὸν ᾱ πόδα τοῦ ἑνὸς μέρους τοῦ πάχους τοῦ τοίχου· γίνονται πόδες ζ· ὧν ἡ περίμετρος ἕτερον αὐτῶν U+2220΄ δ΄ μέρος· γίνονται πόδες ῑᾱ. τούτους ἐπὶ τὸ ὕψος τῆς οἰκοδομῆς.
