Ἀστερίσκον μονοείλητον μετρῆσαι, οὗ τὸ ἔμφωτόν ἐστι ποδῶν δ, τὸ δὲ πάχος ἀνὰ ποδὸς ᾱ, τὸ δὲ πλάτος ποδῶν γ· εὑρεῖν αὐτοῦ τὸ στερεόν. ποιῶ οὕτως· σύνθες ἑκατέρωθεν τὸν ἕνα πόδα· ὁμοῦ γίνονται ϛ. ταῦτα ἐφʼ ἑαυτά· γίνονται λϛ. ἆρον τὸ ἔμφωτον ἐφʼ ἑαυτό· γίνονται ῑϛ· λοιπὸν κ. ταῦτα ἐπὶ τὸ ἕν, ἐπὶ τὸ ὕψος· γίνονται κ. ταῦτα ἐπὶ τὸ πλάτος, ἐπὶ τὰ γ· γίνονται ξ. ταῦτα ἑνδεκάκις· γίνονται χξ· ὧν ιδ΄ γίνονται μζ ζ΄.
