Τεταρτημορίου κόγχης ἡ διάμετρος ποδῶν ῑβ, τὸ δὲ κέντρον ποδῶν γ, ἡ δὲ κάθετος ποδῶν δ· εὑρεῖν τὸ στερεὸν τῆς ὑφαιρέσεως. ποίει οὕτως· τῆς βάσεως τὸ U+2220΄ ἐφʼ ἑαυτό· γίνονται λϛ. ἀλλὰ καὶ τὴν κάθετον ἐφʼ ἑαυτήν· γίνονται ῑϛ. ταῦτα σύνθες· γίνονται νβ. τούτοις πρόσθες τὸ U+2220΄· γίνονται οη. ἔτι τούτοις πρόσβαλε τοῦ κέντρου τὰ γ ἐφʼ ἑαυτά· γίνονται θ· ὁμοῦ πόδες πζ. ταῦτα ἀεὶ τρισσάκις· γίνονται σξᾱ· ὧν τὸ U+2220΄ ρλ U+2220΄. ταῦτα ἑνδεκάκις· γίνονται ,αυλε U+2220΄· ὧν κα΄ γίνονται ξη γ΄. τοσούτου τὸ στερεὸν τῆς ὑφαιρέσεως.
