τὰ μὲν κατὰ τὴν Ῥωμαίων πόλιν τε καὶ γνώμην τοιαῦτα ἦν: ὡς δ̓ ἀπηγγέλη τῷ Μαξιμίνῳ τὰ πεπραγμένα, σκυθρωπός τε ἦν καὶ ἐν μεγάλαις φροντίσι, προσεποιεῖτό τε αὐτῶν καταφρονεῖν. τῆς μὲν οὖν πρώτης καὶ δευτέρας ἡμέρας ἔνδον ἔμεινεν ἡσυχάζων
