17. Τὰ δὲ ἐκ πορείης ἀλγήματα, πλευρέων, νώτου, ὀσφύος, ἰσχίων, καὶ ὁκόσα ἀναπνέοντες ἀλγέουσι πρόφασιν ἔχοντες, πολλάκις γὰρ μεμάθηκε φοιτῇν ἐκ κραιπαλέων καὶ βρωμάτων φυσωδέὡν ἀλγήματα ἐς ὀσφὺν καὶ ἐς ἰσχία, οἷσι δ᾿ ἂν αὐτέων ᾖ τοιάδε δυσουρέεται, τουτέων δὲ πορείη αἰτίη καὶ κορυζέων καὶ βράγχων.
