4. οὐ χρὴ οὐδʼ ἐμπλάσσειν τὰ φάρμακα, πρὶν ἂν πάνυ ξηρὸν ποιήσῃς τὸ ἕλκος· τότε δὲ δεῖ προστιθέναι, ἀνασπογγίζειν δὲ τὸ ἕλκος πολλάκις σπόγγῳ, καὶ αὖθις δθόνιον ξηρὸν καὶ καθαρὸν προσίσχων πολλάκις, οὕτω δὲ ἐπιθεὶς τὸ φάρμακον τὸ δοκέον ξυμφέρειν, ἐπιδεῖν ἢ μὴ ἐπιδεῖν.
