εἴπερ γε, ὥς τινες τῶν φυσικῶν εἰρήκασιν, ἑψόμενον πρῶτον καὶ προμεταβαλλόμενον ἐν μήτρᾳ τὸ σπέρμα τότε προσέρχεται τοῖς ἀναστομωθεῖσιν αὐτῆς ἀγγείοις, καθάπερ τῇ γῇ τὰ τῆς γῆς σπέρματα· ὅθεν οἱ μὴ ειδότες τὴν ποσότητα τοῦ τῆς μεταβολῆς χρόνου οὐκ εἴσονται οὐδὲ τὸν τῆς συλλήψεως καιρόν.
