«Σὺ μὲν ἐφείσω ὑπὲρ τῆς κολοκύντης, ὑπὲρ ἧς οὐκ ἐκακοπάθησας, οὐδὲ ἐξέθρεψας· ἐγὼ δὲ οὐ φείσομαι ὑπὲρ Νινευὴ τῆς πόλεως τῆς μεγάλης, ἐν ᾗ κατοικοῦσιν ἐν αὐτῇ πλείους ἢ δώδεκα μυριάδες ἀνδρῶν, οἵτινες οὐκ ἔγνωσαν δεξιὰν ἢ ἀριστεράν.»
