Εἴ τις ἐπίσκοπος ἢ πρεσβύτερος ἢ μοναχὸς οὐ δέχεται τὸν πρὸς αὐτὸν ἐλθόντα ἁμαρτωλὸν εἰς ἐξομολόγησιν, ἐχθρὸς τοῦ Θεοῦ ὑπάρχει, καὶ τὸν Χριστὸν λυπεῖ τὸν εἰπόντα· «Οὐκ ἦλθον καλέσαι δικαίους, ἀλλὰ ἁμαρτωλοὺς εἰς μετάνοιαν,» καί· «Ὅτι χαρὰ γίνεται ἐν οὐρανῷ καὶ ἐπὶ γῆς ἐπὶ ἁμαρτωλῷ μετανοοῦντι.»
