ὥστε εἰ καὶ πλείους αἱ τῶν Ἑβραίων οἰκίαι μιᾶς ἔχουσι δύναμιν, ὥσπερ αἱ κατὰ πόλεις καὶ χώρας ἐκκλησίαι πολλαὶ τὸν ἀριθμὸν οὖσαι μία ἐστὶν ἐκκλησία· εἷς γὰρ ἐν αὐταῖς ὁ Χριστὸς ἁπανταχοῦ ὁ τέλειος καὶ ἀμέριστος—διόπερ »τέλειον» ἦν ἐφ' ἑκάστης οἰκίας τὸ ἱερεῖον καὶ οὐκ εἰς διαφόρους ἐμερίζετο· — φησὶ γοῦν ἡμᾶς καὶ ὁ Παῦλος ἕνα εἶναι πάντας ἐν Χριστῷ, διότι καὶ ὁ κύριος εἷς καὶ ἡ πίστις μία.
