Διὸ καὶ εἴ τι τῶν κρεῶν τοῦ ἱερείου περισσεῦον πυρὶ κατακαίεται, ἵν' εἰδείημεν ὅτι κατὰ τὸν νῦν αἰῶνα Χριστὸς τέθνηκε »τῇ ἁμαρτίᾳ ἐφάπαξ», »οὐκέτι» δὲ »θάνατος αὐτοῦ κυριεύει», ἀλλὰ ἀφῄρηται τῇ δυνάμει τοῦ πνεύματος ὡσπερεὶ πυρός, τὰ τοῦ θανάτου σημεῖα τῆς ζωῆς ἐπικρατησάσης.
