Πόδες δὲ ὑποδεδεμένοι τῇ »ἑτοιμασίᾳ» φησὶ »τοῦ εὐαγγελίου τῆς εἰρήνης», πρὸς πάντα δρόμον ἀγαθὸν εὐτρεπεῖς, δι' οὗ τὴν εἰρήνην τὴν πρὸς θεὸν βεβαιοῦμεν ἑαυτοῖς, καθά φησιν ὁ ἀπόστολος· »Εἰρήνην ἔχομεν πρὸς τὸν θεὸν διὰ τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ», καὶ »Δι' ὑπομονῆς τρέχομέν» φησι »τὸν προκείμενον ἡμῖν ἆθλον», καὶ »Οὕτω τρέχω ἵνα καταλάβω».
