Σφάξουσι δὲ αὐτὸ πᾶν τὸ πλῆθος συναγωγῆς υἱῶν Ἰσραήλ· ὁ ἄπιστος γὰρ Ἰσραὴλ ἔνοχος γέγονεν ἐκείνου τοῦ τιμίου αἵματος, ὁ μὲν γὰρ πάλαι φονεύων, ὁ δὲ μέχρι νῦν ἀπιστῶν· διὸ καταμαρτυρεῖται αὐτῶν τὸ θεῖον πνεῦμα καὶ βοᾷ λέγον· »Αἱ χεῖρες ὑμῶν αἵματος πλήρεις».
