Περιπατοῦντί μοι ἕωθεν ἐν τοῖς τοῦ ξυστοῦ περιπάτοις συναντήσας τις μετὰ καὶ ἄλλων· Φιλόσοφε, χαῖρε, ἔφη. Καὶ ἅμα εἰπὼν τοῦτο ἐπιστραφεὶς συμπεριεπάτει μοι· συνεπέστρεφον δ᾿ αὐτῷ καὶ οἱ φίλοι αὐτοῦ. Κἀγὼ ἔμπαλιν προσαγορεύσας αὐτόν· Τί μάλιστα : ἔφην.
