Μὴ δή, ὦ ἀδελφοί, κακόν τι εἴπητε εἰς ἐκεῖνον τὸν ἐσταυρωμένον, μηδὲ χλευάσητε αὐτοῦ τοὺς μώλωπας, οἷς ἰαθῆναι πᾶσι δυνατόν, ὡς καὶ ἡμεῖς ἰάθημεν [cf. IS., LIII, 5]. Καλὸν γάρ, ἢν πεισθέντες τοῖς λόγοις περιτμηθῆτε τὴν σκληροκαρδίαν, ἥν οὐχὶ δι᾿ ὑμῶν ἐγγινομένην γνώμην ἔχετε, ἐπειδὴ εἰς σημεῖον ἦν δεδομένη, ἀλλ᾿ οὐκ εἰς δικαιοπραξίας ἔργον, ὡς οἱ λόγοι ἀναγκάζουσι.
