εἰ δέ τιϲ ϲοφίαν ἐπιτηδεύει, τὸ νικᾶν μαχόμενον τοῦτο ϲοφίαν ἡγηϲάϲθω, εἴ γε οὐ ϲοφὸν τὸ δοῦλον εἶναι, τὸ δ’ ἐλεύθερον ϲοφόν. κάλλοϲ ἐν τιμῇ εἶναι δοκεῖ; οἱ αὐτοὶ τοίνυν ἄνδρεϲ νικῶντεϲ οἵ τε καλοὶ καλλίουϲ δοκοῦϲιν εἶναι, οἵ τε αἰϲχροὶ δεινότεροι· πᾶν γὰρ τὸ ἐλεύθερον καλόν.
