καὶ ἐπειδὴ Καταναῖοι ἠνάγκαζον ἱππεύειν, ἵππευον καὶ οὐδενὸς οὐδʼ ἐνταῦθα κινδύνου ἀπελειπόμην, ὥστʼ εἰδέναι ἅπαντας οἷος ἦν τὴν ψυχὴν ἱππεύων τε καὶ ὁπλιτεύων. ὧν ὑμῖν τοὺς μάρτυρας παρέξομαι.
