σόγκους δʼ οὐκ ἂν ἐγὼ μυθήσομαι οὐδʼ ὀνομήνω,
μυελόεν βλάστημα, καρηκομόωντας ἀκάνθαις,
βολβίνας θʼ, αἳ Ζηνὸς Ὀυλυμπίου εἰσὶν ἀοιδοί,
ἃς ἐν χέρσῳ θρέψε Διὸς παῖς ἄσπετος ὄμβρος,
λευκοτέρας χιόνος, ἔσθειν δʼ ἀμύλοισιν ὁμοίας·
τάων θυομένων ἠράσσατο πότνια γαστήρ.
