Ὅμηρον ἐῶ· τάχα γὰρ καὶ δυσχεράναις ἂν τῷ λόγῳ προφερομένῳ σοι μάρτυρα φιλοπό|λεμον. Βούλει σοι τὰ δεύτερα ἐπʼ ἐκείνῳ λέγω τὰ Λακωνικά, ἢ τὰ Ἀττικά, ἢ τὰ Κρητικά, ἢ τὰ Περσικά; Τὴν Σπάρτην ἐπαινεῖς ὡς εὐνομωτάτην. δὲ Δυκοῦργος (ὃς σοῦ δήπου ἐπαινέτου δεήσεται· ὁ γὰρ Ἀπόλλων φθάνει λέγων πρὸς αὐτὸν δίζω, ἤ σε θεὸν μαντεύομαι, ἢ ἄνθρωπον),
