Καὶ γὰρ ὀφθαλμοῖς φίλον μὲν χρωομάτων τὸ λαμπρότατον, ἀλλʼ ἐὰν μὴ παραθῇς τὸ φαιόν, ἐλύπησας αὐτοῦ τὴν ἡδονήν· ἐὰν δὲ μίξῃς ταῖς εὐτυχίαις τὰ δυσχερῆ, μᾶλλον αἰσθητῷ τῆς ἀρετῆς καὶ συνήσεις τῆς εὐτυχίας.
