Κἂν ἡδονῇ κανονιστέον ᾖ τὰ ἀρεστά, οὐδὲν τῆς σωφροσύνης ἥδιον· κἂν πόνῳ κανονιστέον ᾖ τὰ φευκτά, οὐδὲν τῆς ἀκρασίας ἐπιπονώτερον.
