Ὅτι ἐδόκει φρονήσει τὸ τῶν Ἀμυθαονιδῶν (1) γένος τὸ παλαιὸν ἐν τοῖς Ἕλλησι πρωτεύειν· ὥσπερ καὶ Ἡσίοδός φησιν ἐν τούτοις· Ἀλκὴν μὲν γὰρ ἔδωκεν Ὀλύμπιος Αἰακίδῃσι, νοῦν δ ̓ Ἀμυθαονίδαις, πλοῦτον δ ̓ ἔπορ ̓ (2) Ἀτρείδῃσι.
