οὔ πω δʼ, ἁβροκόμοιο κασιγνήτοιο φυγόντος,
δάκρυσιν ὀμβρηθεῖσα δέμας μορφώσατο κούρη,
καὶ ῥόον ὑδατόεντα γοήμονος ἔβλυε πηγῆς.
τῷ δʼ ἅμα θαρσήεντες ἐπερρώοντο μαχηταί,
οἳ Μυκάλην ἐνέμοντο, καὶ οἳ λάχον ἀγκύλον ὕδωρ
εἰς χθόνα δυομένοιο παλιννόστου ποταμοῖο,
Μαιάνδρου σκολιοῖο, διερπύζοντος ἐναύλων.
Τόσσαι μὲν στίχες ἦλθον· ὁμοζήλῳ δὲ πορείῃ
λαῶν ἀγρομένων Κυβεληίδες ἔκτυπον αὐλαί,
Μυγδονίης δὲ πόληος ἐκυκλώθησαν ἀγυιαί.
