Νυμφόδωρος δ ̓ ὁ Συρακούσιος ἐν τῷ Περὶ τῶν ἐν Σικελίᾳ θαυμαζομένων ἐξ Ὑκκάρου φησὶ Σικελικοῦ φρουρίου εἶναι τὴν Λαΐδα. Νυμφόδωρος ἐν τῷ Περὶ Σικελίας θαυμαζομένων φησὶν ὅτι ἐπὶ Δάφνιδας Ἆκις ποταμὸς Σικελίας οὐκ ἦν.
