13 μὴ διδομένου δὲ τούτου ἀδύνατον ἔσται τὸ προταθὲν ὑπʼ αὐτοῦ διὰ τῶν ἐπιπέδων εὑρεθῆναι, ὡς καὶ διὰ τῶν ἀριθμῶν αὐτῶν ἀκολούθως τῇ ἀναλύσει τοῖς βουλομένοις ἐξέσται πεισθῆναι, χρωμένοις τῷ Πτολεμαίου κανόνι περὶ τῶν ἐν κύκλῳ εὐθειῶν. ἀλλὰ τοῦτον μὲν ἀπορεῖν ὁμοίως τοῖς ἄλλοις βέλτιον ἦν ἤπερ οὕτως εὑρίσκειν, ἡμεῖς δὲ τὰ ὑπερτεθέντα νῦν δείξομεν.
