Φερεκύδης ἐν τῷ δευτέρῳ φησὶν ὅτι Πολυδώρᾳ τῇ Δαναοῦ μίσγεται Πηνειὸς ὁ ποταμός. Τῶν δὲ γίνεται Δρύοψ, ἀφ ̓ οὗ Δρύοπες καλοῦνται. Οἰκοῦσι δὲ ἐπὶ τῷ Σπερχειῷ ποταμῷ.
