ἐν ἀριθμοῖς δὲ ἡ τετρὰς τετίμηται παρά τε τοῖς ἄλλοις φιλοσόφοις, ὅσοι τὰς ἀσωμάτους οὐσίας καὶ νοητὰς ἠσπάσαντο, καὶ μάλιστα παρὰ Μωυσεῖ τῷ πανσόφῳ, ὃς σεμνύνων τὸν τέταρτον ἀριθμόν φησιν, ὅτι "ἅγιός ἐστι καὶ αἰνετός“ (Lev. 19, 24)· δι’ ἃς δ’ αἰτίας ἐλέχθη, διὰ τῆς προτέρας συντάξεως εἴρηται.
