ὁ δ’ οὐδεμίαν ἐνδεξάμενος τροπὴν οὔτε κατὰ τὸ σῶμα οὔτε κατὰ τὴν διάνοιαν σταθερῷ μὲν τῷ βλέμματι σταθερῷ δὲ τῷ λογισμῷ φησι πρὸς τὴν πεῦσιν ἀποκρινόμενος· „ὦ τέκνον, ὁ θεὸς ὄψεται ἱερεῖον ἑαυτῷ καὶ ἐν ἐρημίᾳ πολλῇ, δι’ ἣν ἴσως ἀπογινώσκεις εὑρεθήσεσθαι· πάντα δ’ ἴσθι θεῷ δυνατὰ καὶ ὅσα ἐν ἀμηχάνῳ καὶ ἀπόρῳ κεῖται παρ’ ἀνθρώποις“.
