μερίδι τῶν ἐχθρῶν αὐτοβοεὶ διαφθεῖραι· βαρβαρικὰ δὲ ἔθνη μέχρι πολλοῦ παιδοκτονίαν ὡς ὅσιον ἔργον καὶ θεοφιλὲς προσέσθαι, ὧν μεμνῆσθαι τοῦ ἄγους καὶ τὸν ἱερώτατον Μωυσῆν· αἰτιώμενος γὰρ αὐτοὺς τοῦ μιάσματος φάσκει, ὅτι "τοὺς υἱοὺς αὐτῶν καὶ τὰς θυγατέρας κατακαίουσι τοῖς θεοῖς αὐτῶν“ (Deut. 12, 31)·
