εἰ δέ τις δόξης ὀρεγόμενος υἱὸν ἢ θυγατέρα προΐεται, ψέγοιτ’ ἂν ἐνδίκως μᾶλλον ἢ ἐπαινοῖτο, θανάτῳ τῶν φιλτάτων ὠνούμενος τιμήν, ἣν καὶ κεκτημένος ὤφειλεν ὑπὲρ σωτηρίας τῶν τέκνων ἀπορρίπτειν.
