τοῦτο μηνυθὲν ὑπό τινος τῶν ἐκ τῆς τροπῆς διασωθέντων χαλεπῶς αὐτὸν ἠνίασε καὶ οὐκέτ’ ἠρέμει διὰ τοῦτο συγκεχυμένος καὶ ζῶντα πενθῶν τὸ ἀργαλεώτερον ἢ εἰ τεθνεῶτα ἐπύθετο· τέλος μὲν γάρ, ὡς αὐτό που δηλοῖ τοὔνομα, τῶν κατὰ τὸν βίον ἁπάντων καὶ μάλιστα κακῶν ᾔδει τὴν τελευτήν, μυρία δὲ τῶν ἀβουλήτων ἐφεδρεύοντα τοῖς ζῶσι.
