συντείνων οὖν ἔσπευδε μηδὲν τάχους ἀνιείς, ἕως καιροφυλακήσας νυκτὸς ἐπιπίπτει τοῖς πολεμίοις δεδειπνοποιημένοις ἤδη καὶ πρὸς ὕπνον μέλλουσι τρέπεσθαι· καὶ τοὺς μὲν ἐν εὐναῖς ἱέρευε, τοὺς δ’ ἀντιταχθέντας ἄρδην ἀνῄρει, πάντων δ’ ἐρρωμένως ἐπεκράτει τῷ θαρραλέῳ τῆς ψυχῆς μᾶλλον ἢ ταῖς παρασκευαῖς.
