πολλὰ δὲ ἔχων ἐγκώμια τῆς ἀνθρώπου διεξιέναι, ἑνὸς ὑπομνησθήσομαι, ὃ γενήσεται καὶ τῶν ἄλλων σαφεστάτη πίστις. ἄγονος γὰρ οὖσα καὶ στεῖρα, δείσασα μὴ κατὰ τὸ παντελὲς ἔρημος γενεᾶς ὁ θεοφιλὴς οἶκος ἀπολειφθῇ, προσελθοῦσα τῷ ἀνδρί φησι τάδε·
