μόνος δ’ οὑτοσὶ τοὐναντίον πεπονθέναι φαίνεται, βίον ἥδιστον νομίζων τὸν ἄνευ συνδιαιτήσεως τῆς τῶν πολλῶν. καὶ πέφυκεν οὕτως ἔχειν· οἱ γὰρ ζητοῦντες καὶ ἐπιποθοῦντες θεὸν ἀνευρεῖν τὴν φίλην αὐτῷ μόνωσιν ἀγαπῶσι, κατ’ αὐτὸ τοῦτο σπεύδοντες πρῶτον ἐξομοιοῦσθαι τῇ μακαρίᾳ καὶ εὐδαίμονι φύσει.
