ποίῳ δὴ τούτων ἄξιον τὸν κόσμον φθείρεσθαι φάναι; τῷ κατὰ διαίρεσιν; ἀλλ’ οὔτε ἐκ διεστηκότων ἐστίν, ὡς τὰ μέρη σκεδασθῆναι, οὔτε ἐκ συναπτομένων, ὡς διαλυθῆναι, οὔτε τὸν αὐτὸν τρόπον τοῖς ἡμετέροις ἥνωται σώμασι· τὰ μὲν γὰρ ἐπικήρως τε ἐξ ἑαυτῶν ἔχει καὶ δυναστεύεται πρὸς μυρίων ὑφ’ ὧν βλάπτεται, τοῦ δ’ ἀήττητος ἡ ῥώμη πολλῇ τινι περιουσίᾳ πάντων κατακρατοῦσα.
