οὐ διὰ τοῦτο μέντοι δόξαντι θυσίας ἀμέμπτους ἀναγαγεῖν τῷ Κάιν λόγιον ἐξέπεσε μὴ θαρρεῖν ὡς κεκαλλιερηκότι; μὴ γὰρ ἐφ’ ἱεροῖς καὶ τελείοις βουθυτῆσαι· τὸ δὲ λόγιόν ἐστι τοιόνδε· „οὐκ ἐὰν ὀρθῶς προσενέγκῃς, ὀρθῶς δὲ μὴ διέλῃς“ (Gen. 4, 7).
