καὶ μηδέποτε ἀποθνῄσκειν λέγονται (Num. 21,8). ταῦτα δ’ οὕτως μὲν λεγόμενα φάσμασιν ἔοικε καὶ τέρασι, δράκων ἀνθρώπου προϊέμενος φωνὴν καὶ ἐνσοφιστεύων ἀκακωτάτοις ἤθεσι καὶ πιθανότησιν εὐπαραγώγοις γυναῖκα ἀπατῶν, καὶ ἕτερος αἴτιος σωτηρίας γενόμενος παντελοῦς τοῖς θεασαμένοις.
