βεβαίως, γάρ φησιν, οὐδὲν οὐδενὶ πεπράσεται τῶν ἐν γενέσει, ὡς [ἂν] ἑνὸς ὄντος οὗ κυρίως βεβαία ἡ τῶν ὅλων κτῆσις· κέχρηκε γὰρ ὁ θεὸς τὰ γενητὰ πάντα πᾶσιν, οὐδὲν τῶν κατὰ μέρος τέλειον ἐργασάμενος, ὃ μὴ πάντως χρεῖον ἄλλου, ἵν’ οὗ δεῖται τυχεῖν γλιχόμενον ἐξ ἀνάγκης τῷ παρασχεῖν δυναμένῳ πλησιάζῃ καὶ ἐκεῖνο τούτῳ καὶ ἀμφότερα ἀλλήλοις·
