πῶς δὲ τὰ κτήνη — κτήνη δέ εἰσιν αἱ αἰσθήσεις, ἄλογον γὰρ καὶ κτηνῶδες αἴσθησις — σαυτοῦ λέγειν εἶναι τολμᾷς; παρορῶν, εἰπέ μοι, παρακούων ἀεί, τοὺς γλυκεῖς χυλοὺς ἁλμυροὺς ἔστιν ὅτε καὶ ἔμπαλιν τοὺς πικροὺς γλυκεῖς ἡγούμενος καὶ κατὰ πᾶσαν αἴσθησιν πλείω τῶν κατορθουμένων εἰωθὼς διαμαρτάνειν οὐκ ἐρυθριᾷς, ἀλλ’ ὥσπερ ἀπταίστοις κεχρημένος ταῖς περὶ ψυχὴν ἁπάσαις δυνάμεσί τε καὶ ἐνεργείαις γαυριᾷς καὶ πεφύσησαι;
