τὸ δὲ οὐκ ἐπ’ ὠφελείᾳ φαίνεται συμβῆναι· καὶ γὰρ αὖθις οὐδὲν ἧττον κατὰ ἔθνη διῳκισμένων καὶ μὴ μιᾷ διαλέκτῳ χρωμένων γῆ καὶ θάλαττα πολλάκις ἀμυθήτων κακῶν ἐπληρώθη. οὐ γὰρ αἱ φωναί, ἀλλὰ αἱ ὁμότροποι τῆς ψυχῆς πρὸς τὸ ἁμαρτάνειν ζηλώσεις τοῦ συναδικεῖν αἴτιαι·
