Τὸ δέ, „κατέβη κύριος ἰδεῖν τὴν πόλιν καὶ τὸν πύργον“ (Gen. 11,5) τροπικώτερον πάντως ἀκουστέον· προσιέναι γὰρ ἢ ἀπιέναι ἢ κατιέναι ἢ τοὐναντίον ἀνέρχεσθαι ἢ συνόλως τὰς αὐτὰς τοῖς κατὰ μέρος ζῴοις σχέσεις καὶ κινήσεις ἴσχεσθαι καὶ κινεῖσθαι τὸ θεῖον ὑπολαμβάνειν ὑπερωκεάνιος καὶ μετακόσμιος, ὡς ἔπος εἰπεῖν, ἐστὶν ἀσέβεια.
