τίς οὖν πίστις τοῦ μὴ τετελεσιουργῆσθαι τὴν κατασκευήν; ἡ ἐνάργεια πρώτη· γῆς γὰρ ὁτιοῦν μέρος ἀμήχανον οὐρανοῦ ψαῦσαι διὰ τὴν ἔμπροσθεν αἰτίαν, ὅτιπερ οὐδὲ κέντρον περιφερείας ἅπτεται· δευτέρα δ’, ὅτι ὁ αἰθήρ, ἱερὸν πῦρ, φλόξ ἐστιν ἄσβεστος, ὡς καὶ αὐτὸ δηλοῖ τοὔνομα παρὰ τὸ αἴθειν, ὃ δὴ καίειν ἐστὶ κατὰ γλῶτταν, εἰρημένον.
