ἀλλ’ ὅ γε θεοπρόπος Μωυσῆς θράσει πολλῷ ῥέοντας αὐτοὺς ὑπαντιάσας ἐφέξει, κἂν τὸν θρασύτατον καὶ δεινότατον εἰπεῖν ἐν ἑαυτοῖς βασιλέα λόγον προστησάμενοι μιᾷ ῥύμῃ κατατρέχωσι, συναύξοντες τὰ οἰκεῖα καὶ ποταμοῦ τρόπον πλημμύροντες· „ἰδοὺ„ γάρ φησιν „ὁ τῆς Αἰγύπτου βασιλεὺς ἐπὶ τὸ ὕδωρ ἀφικνεῖται. σὺ δὲ στήσῃ συναντῶν αὐτῷ ἐπὶ τὸ χεῖλος τοῦ ποταμοῦ„ (Exod. 7, 15).
