τὴν γοῦν ἀρετήν, Λείαν, ἔστιν ἰδεῖν προαπαντῶσαν καὶ λέγουσαν τῷ ἀσκητῇ· „πρὸς μὲ εἰσελεύσῃ σήμερον“ (Gen. 30,16), ἡνίκα ἐκεῖνος ἀγρόθεν ἐπανῄει. ποῦ γὰρ ὤφειλεν εἰςελθεῖν ὁ τῶν ἐπιστήμης σπερμάτων καὶ φυτῶν ἐπιμελητής, ὅτι μὴ πρὸς τὴν γεωργηθεῖσαν ἀρετήν;
