ὥσθ’ ὅσῳ δυνατώτερον καὶ δραστικώτερον καὶ τοῖς ὅλοις κρεῖττον διάνοια χειρός ἐστι, τοσούτῳ τῆς ἐγκυκλίου μουσικῆς ἐπιστήμην καὶ φρόνησιν θαυμασιωτέραν εἶναι νενόμικα καὶ διαφερόντως ἐκτετίμηκα. λαβοῦσα οὖν, ὦ καὶ ὑπάρχουσα καὶ πρὸς ἐμοῦ νομιζομένη κυρία, τὴν ἐμὴν ἅπασαν παιδείαν ὡς θεραπαινίδι χρῶ, „ὡς εὐάρεστόν σοι.“
